Host a Third Party Community Initiative (Fundraiser)
Volunteers are encouraged to be creative in organizing and implementing their own events and donating the proceeds to the Canadian Diabetes Association. This is a flexible opportunity for those with busy schedules who want to raise funds for diabetes research, education and services
Become a Presenter for our Community Education Programs
Volunteers are trained to facilitate our Learning Series Presentations to people affected by diabetes including community groups, corporate lunch n’ learns, seniors, service clubs etc. . This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to improve their public speaking skills and to help educate people about diabetes and diabetes management.
Help us run a Public Education Event or Fundraiser
Volunteers assist Canadian Diabetes Association staff in implementing events such as Diabetes Expos, Health Fairs, and Fundraising Events. These are excellent opportunities for people looking for a one-day volunteer opportunity or for corporate or community groups wishing to volunteer together
Become an Advocate
Speak out on behalf of Canadians living with diabetes and help us advocate for them to provincial and federal government officials. This role is ideal for a person with diabetes or a parent or caregiver of a person with diabetes that has a positive attitude and a desire to effect change in their community
