Program: The LIT program has been developed by Camp Rotary in an attempt to satisfy the needs of youth who wish to enjoy a rewarding summer program exploring their own independence and leadership skills. Camp Rotary has a proud history of providing people with disabilities with an opportunity for expression, self-confidence, and building initiative skills using a variety of fun camp activities. Participants in the LIT program are able to experience tremendous personal growth opportunities in a supportive, dynamic environment that offers a host of fun and challenging outdoor summer activities such as: canoeing, swimming, photography, hiking, camping, sports and games.
The LIT program uses modular training techniques to encourage participants to learn a variety of skills in several activity streams. These activities include a host of hands-on leadership activities, canoeing seminars, community volunteer events, independence training, and overnight group camping trips. All of these activities combined enable the participants to realize their own potential, and focus on learning essential leadership and independence skills that will become valuable on their journey towards adulthood.
