Pfizer Canada supports Canadian Diabetes Association’s consumer and healthcare professional education initiatives including advocacy, the CDA/CSEM Annual Professional Conference, Canadian Diabetes, the Association’s quarterly magazine for over 40,000 physicians, a Smoking and Diabetes fact sheet, community-based diabetes education programs and the 2008 Diabetes Awareness Month campaign. The Canadian Diabetes Association participates as a partner on Pfizer’s cholesterol awareness campaign, “Making the Connection.” In addition, Pfizer provided an unrestricted grant in support of the recently published 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Novo Nordisk Canada Inc.
Novo Nordisk Canada is a long-time supporter of the programs and services of the Canadian Diabetes Association. They have supported consumer and healthcare professional education initiatives, including the CDA/CSEM Annual Professional Conference, the development of a continuing medical education program entitled, Practical Diabetes Management, advocacy initiatives, notably funding an economic impact study on diabetes to the Canadian healthcare system and the Association’s 2008 Diabetes Awareness Month campaign.
Novo Nordisk has also committed to support the joint efforts of the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on November 14 – World Diabetes Day - joining the international diabetes awareness campaign. In addition, Novo Nordisk provided an unrestricted grant in support of the recently published 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines.
sanofi aventis Canada Inc.
Sanofi aventis supports the Association’s consumer and healthcare professional education initiatives including diabetes Expos across the country, the CDA/CSEM Annual Professional Conference, the national Residential Camping Program for children with type 1 diabetes, Team Diabetes, a flagship fundraising program, advocacy initiatives and the Association’s 2008 Diabetes Awareness Month campaign. In addition, the company provided an unrestricted grant in support of the recently published 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Shoppers Drug Mart
As the leading pharmacy retail drug store chain in Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart is the Association’s exclusive sponsor for the dissemination of the 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines to the consumer at the retail pharmacy level. Shoppers Drug Mart also supports the Association’s efforts to educate healthcare professionals in particular as it relates to ensuring Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacists have the most up to date information on diabetes. Shoppers Drug Mart has a comprehensive program in place for its pharmacists encouraging them and supporting them to become Certified Diabetes Educators. Shoppers Drug Mart and the Canadian Diabetes Association also collaborate on co-marketing initiatives in order to increase the reach of important educational messages related to diabetes management.

GlaxoSmithKline currently supports the Association’s healthcare professional education initiatives including the CDA/CSEM Annual Professional Conference. A long-time supporter of the Association, the company provided an unrestricted grant in support of the recently published 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines and their translation into French. In addition, the company provides unrestricted funding to support national and regional advocacy initiatives.

LifeScan is a long-time supporter of the programs and services of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
