Functions of the Clinical & Scientific Section
- Representation of clinicians and scientists on various Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) councils and committees concerned with advocacy, service, professional development and research.
- Organization of the annual CDA/CSEM Joint Professional Conference and Annual Meeting.
- Presentation of the annual Young Scientist Award for outstanding diabetes research in Canada.
- Selection and presentation of the annual Gerald S. Wong Service Award for outstanding service and contribution to people with diabetes.
- Organization of continuing medical education activities in diabetes mellitus for clinicians and scientists.
- Maintenance of a close liason with the Diabetes Educator Section of the Canadian Dietitians Association.
